This is based on the Old Testament of the Bible, and it tells the story of the Witch of Endor who called up the ghost of Samuel at Saul's request because he was nervous about the upcoming battle. It goes on to tell of her daughter and granddaughter who struggle to keep the old religion of the Goddess as David tries to wipe it out and install the new God in Israel.
