Seems as though the author is mixing up black magick with baneful magick. As such he says in the preface about this volume: they "have omitted of one or two experiments partaking largely of black magic." Raise that this manuscript maybe incomplete, possibly has been profaned from its original intent, and recreated as "safe" in the eyes of the translator. If you are an occultist, I would say to avoid this copy and to go seek a more complete one for your study, although this one seems alright. If you are Christian or you are a child below the age of 22, This may be a good starting point for you and realize that the manuscripts that are detailed in the preface are possibly ones that you should research. Also, I recommend you read "The testament of Solomon the King" edited by Tarl Warwick.
